Attention Class of 2026 & Guardians! All rising 12th-grade students are required to have the Meningococcal Conjugate Booster by the 30th day of the 2025-2026 school year. Please make arrangements to receive this vaccine as soon as possible. If your student has already received the required vaccine, kindly provide a copy of their vaccination record to our school nurse, Vanessa Wimpey. Juniors! The ACT is tomorrow! Room Assignments for Testing have been sent to your school email. Report to your room no later than 8:00 am. Doors will be open at 7:45 am. Make sure your I-Pad is charged. Do not be late!!! Testing should end around 12:35 pm. What to Bring: - An acceptable photo ID (Like Driver's License, School ID, etc.) - A Permitted Calculator - Pencils to use on scratch paper - A Snack for During Break -FULLY CHARGED IPAD -TestNav (available in Self-Service) needs to be downloaded on your IPAD. What Not to Bring: - Textbook - Highlighters - Reading Material - Phone or other electronic devices besides a permitted calculator You got this! Get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast!

Attention FHS Parents and Students. Wednesday, March 12th will be a remote learning day for all FHS students including 11th grade. The ACT will be rescheduled when we have approval to move forward. Message from DPI "The NCDPI is aware of a technical issue with the ACT Now/Test Center Manager (TCM) software that impacted testing across the state. The NCDPI has been in contact with ACT and ACT is working to investigate and provide resolution. PSUs are instructed not to reschedule testing until the NCDPI provides resolution from ACT that testing can resume without interruption." Thank you for your understanding.

Tomorrow, March 11th, an SCC rep will speak with all Sophomores about the Career & College Promise dual enrollment program. A follow-up meeting for interested Sophomores & parents is on Thursday, March 13th, at 5:30pm in the FHS Fine Arts Center. Come learn how CCP can benefit your student!

📢 Attention FHS Families! This Wednesday, March 12th, is a virtual day for all FHS students except juniors. Juniors need to report by 8 AM for the mandatory ACT exam, which ends at 12:35 PM. Morning transportation is provided, but students must arrange alternative transportation for after testing. Breakfast and a grab-and-go lunch will be available.

It is time to complete the annual online registration application for next school year. Please make sure to click on the "Online Registration Update" button to complete and submit your child/children's 'Macon County Schools 2025-2026' existing student registration. This information is REQUIRED to be reviewed and updated by a primary parent/guardian every school year. If you have other children who will be starting school in the fall, who need to be added to this application, you will be able to add them once you get to the student section. A Huge Thank You to Principal Sutton & Volunteers! With Macon Middle School (MMS) and Franklin High School (FHS) sharing athletic spaces at MMS, we’re incredibly grateful for Principal Mark Sutton and all the dedicated volunteers who worked hard to improve the fields! Thanks to their efforts, new sod has been installed, making an immediate and much-needed improvement. While significant progress was made, the project isn’t fully complete—eight pallets of sod weren’t enough to cover everything. Good morning Seniors. The North Carolina Strawberry Association is offering up to three $2,000 awards to be given in 2025. Applicants should be high school seniors or current college students accepted to or currently enrolled in a land grant university who are interested in or have declared a major in a program of study directly related to the strawberry industry (for example, small fruit production, marketing, food science, nutrition, entomology, agronomy, etc.). Applications from families of NCSA members, both in North Carolina and in other states, are encouraged. This scholarship is renewable; however, a new application must be submitted each year. Today, we had the honor of presenting plaques to Garrett Young and Carrie Holland, recognizing their outstanding achievements in FHS wrestling! Garrett received his plaque for his incredible season and for making history as the first freshman wrestler in FHS history to qualify for the state tournament. Carrie was also recognized for her groundbreaking accomplishment as the very first women’s wrestling Conference Champion in school history! Their plaques will have a twin displayed in the school trophy case to celebrate their achievements. Congratulations, Garrett and Carrie!!
